Concept

This project was developed in collaboration with New Scenic Café, the region’s most established fine dining restaurant with nearly 30 years of culinary excellence. I was commissioned to create promotional materials for a one-night, eight-course in-house wine dinner featuring Highland French cuisine paired with wines from the Languedoc region of France.

The client requested a design that felt simple, refined, and classic; reflective of both French culinary tradition and the Café’s elevated reputation. Deliverables included a printed flier, social media promotional graphics, and live Instagram Story coverage during the event. The challenge was to maintain brand integrity while visually communicating sophistication and cultural authenticity across platforms.

Progress

After establishing a blue and red palette with white accents, subtly referencing both the French flag and the Café’s existing branding; I explored layout systems that would balance hierarchy and restraint.

Given the multi-course nature of the event, careful typographic organization was essential. I tested several compositions to ensure the design felt elevated and curated while presenting information in a clear, structured way suitable for both print and social media.

Design

The final, printed flier featured an outline of France to reinforce the regional focus. The reverse side organized the eight-course menu and event details using a structured typographic hierarchy that mirrored the formality and progression of the evening.

The primary graphic was adapted for social media promotion, alongside an additional post featuring the tagline, “Sip, Savor, Socialize; Reserve Your Seat at the Table.”

On the evening of the event, I managed the restaurant’s Instagram Story, documenting the atmosphere and key moments of the dinner in real time. This required translating the established visual language into dynamic, platform-specific content while maintaining tone, pacing, and brand consistency. The live coverage extended the promotional campaign into experiential storytelling and demonstrated capability in social media management within a fine-dining context.
